As A Christian, How Prepared Are You For Heaven?

If Jesus was to come today or if today was to be your last day on this planet earth, as a professed Christian, will you be qualify for heaven? Don’t answer yet, but rather read on as we consider the warnings of Jesus Christ to both Church members and ministers in Matthew 7; 21-24.

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven ; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.”

Jesus Christ is telling every one in His Church to know and understand that heaven can only be gained by complete obedience to the word of God in every area of our life so that no one build his life on false hope and false pursuit of heaven only to end up in hell as it has been the fate of many.

None of us should ever think or dream of getting to heaven by chance or by the love and mercy of God in our unholy state without fulfilling God conditions and meeting His requirements to qualify for heaven.

Consider these following passages of scripture,

Matthew 5 ; 8, “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”
Possessing purity of heart is God condition for our entering into heaven
Read Psalm 15, Psalm 24 ; 3-5.

Matthew 7 ; 13, 14, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
Jesus is saying that the road to heaven is so narrow that only the few Christians who will be ready to live the kind of life that the people who walk on that road must live are the ones that will make it to heaven. While the majority of Christians who want to serve God on their own terms and in their own way walking on the broad way will end up in hell.
Read 1 John 2 ; 15-17, James 4 ; 4-8.

Matthew 7 ; 21-23, ‘Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have we cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
Jesus Christ is saying that many who profess to be Christians and Church leaders performing signs and wonders will go to hell for failing to serve God in holiness and righteousness.
Read Luke 1 ; 74, 75, John 4 ; 23, 24, 1 Corinthians 6 ; 9, 10, Galatians 5 ; 19-21

Matthew 22; 14, “For many are called, but few are chosen”
Here again Jesus Christ said many Christians are just Christians for this world only and not Christians for heaven.
Christians who are for heaven are not of this world and do not live for this world.
They live the life of heaven here on earth. They live in total obedience to the word of God. They do not live to please themselves but God only.

Luke 13 ; 23, 24, “Then said one unto Him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in,
and shall not be able.”
Jesus Christ said many people are called to be Christians to start the journey to heaven. But not many are prepared to stop living for themselves and this world and start living for God and heaven and to consecrate the whole of their life to serve God in holy and righteous living.
Read Romans 6, 8, 12.
